In the UK, there are multiple routes to qualify as an acupuncture professional depending on your particular background when you begin training. Here at Breeze Academy, we offer the following:

Route A: Are you currently a regulated healthcare professional, or a final year student, where the degree includes musculoskeletal anatomy at Level 4? For example, are you a Doctor, Dentist, Physiotherapist, Osteopath, Chiropractor, Sports Therapist, Occupational Therapist, Nurse, Midwife or Podiatrist?

If this applies to you, then you are able to attend our Foundation Acupuncture & Dry Needling Course.

Route B: If you are not currently a regulated healthcare professional, or final year student, we require that you meet all of the following in order to attend our Foundation Acupuncture & Dry Needling Foundation Course:

• Your existing therapy qualification contains musculoskeletal anatomy to level 4 (which includes identification and palpation of musculoskeletal structures).
• You are practising as a therapist, which involves assessing and treating common musculoskeletal conditions.
• You agree to sign up to the Breeze Academy Register.

An example of a Route B therapist would be a Level 4 Sports Massage Therapist.

Route C: For therapists without Level 4 Anatomy, and / or do not currently assess and treat musculoskeletal conditions, we offer an Entry Level Acupuncture Course.

Yes, absolutely! Our courses are designed for beginners with no prior acupuncture or dry needling experience. You’ll need to first meet our eligibility criteria, but there’s no expectation that you have any prior training in these techniques. Almost all learners on our foundation and entry level courses are starting from scratch, and our expert tutors guide you through every step to ensure you feel confident and competent.

Most definitely! After completing a course, you’ll be able to practise acupuncture within the scope of your training:

• Entry Level Acupuncture Course: You can immediately use acupuncture to support clients with stress, anxiety, general well-being, relaxation, women’s health conditions (e.g., hot flushes, period pain, irregular menstruation), brain fog, bloating, and lethargy – provided you have the necessary insurance and local council licence. We guide you through securing both during the course.

• Foundation Acupuncture & Dry Needling Course: You’ll be fully prepared to integrate acupuncture and dry needling into your professional practice, ensuring you have the right insurance and any required local licensing. Additionally, while the course covers core techniques, you’ll have the flexibility to incorporate additional acupuncture points when clinically appropriate, allowing you to tailor treatments to your clients’ needs safely and effectively.

Our courses are designed to give you the skills and confidence to use acupuncture safely and effectively in your practice. The specific conditions you’ll be able to treat will depend on the course you complete:

• Entry Level Acupuncture Course: You’ll be able to safely and confidently use acupuncture to support clients with stress, anxiety, general well-being, relaxation, women’s health concerns (e.g., hot flushes, period pain, irregular menstruation), brain fog, bloating, and fatigue. This course focuses on general health concerns rather than musculoskeletal conditions. If you’re interested in treating musculoskeletal issues, our Foundation Course is the ideal next step.

• Foundation Acupuncture & Dry Needling Course: This course equips you to integrate acupuncture and dry needling into your practice with confidence. Rather than following set protocols, you’ll develop the skills to assess and treat a range of conditions, including musculoskeletal dysfunctions such as low back pain, neck pain, headaches, shoulder, knee, and ankle issues, as well as pelvic health challenges, systemic imbalances, and wellbeing-related concerns like stress and fatigue. You’ll also have the flexibility to explore additional acupuncture points beyond those taught in the course, provided your treatment is clinically reasoned. With the right insurance and local licensing in place, you’ll be fully prepared to put your new skills into practice.

Yes, you’ll need appropriate insurance and a local council licence to practise acupuncture and dry needling after completing your course. The exact requirements depend on your location and professional background, but don’t worry – we provide guidance on this topic during the course.

Since regulations vary by location and we’re not registered with the FSA, we can’t provide specific advice on insurance or licensing. However, we do signpost key considerations to help you navigate these requirements. You’ve got a couple of options when it comes to payment. You can either pay the full course fee upfront, or split the cost into monthly instalments if preferred. But just to let you know – in order to receive your certificate once you’ve completed your course, the full fee needs to have been paid.

We deliver acupuncture and dry needling training across the UK and continue to expand internationally. However, if there are no upcoming courses in your area, please send us a message to register your interest and we’ll get back to you as soon as a course becomes available in your area.

In addition, we also offer the option of arranging a bespoke course for you and your colleagues or classmates, inclusive of a generous group booking discount.
