Prior to the face-to-face component of the course, you will be required to complete a series of safety lessons on our online platform, covering contraindications, precautions and adverse events, as well as revisiting needle insertion fundamentals and pain physiology.

Having undertaken the online learning, the face-to-face component will be a fully practical workshop consist covering a wide range of needling skills across the knee, elbow, neck, low back and achilles tendon, with plenty of opportunity to discuss specific case histories and other regions of the body.

Following the face-to-face session, further online learning is provided in the form of case studies and multi choice quizzes to help consolidate your learning, making sure you feel confident to apply the learning activities immediately.

This course is for healthcare professionals who have already taken a foundation course in acupuncture but are now looking to complete CPD hours and advance their skills and understanding further.

Online learning prior to face-to-faceOnline

  1. Prior to the face-to-face session, you will complete safety lessons on our online platform. You will learn:

    • Contraindications and precautions
    • Adverse events
    • How to deal with adverse events
  2. Needle insertion fundamentals takes you through video demonstrations of how we choose needle size, and how we can clinically reason our acupoints choices, no matter which part of the body is needled.

  3. Pain physiology and the impact acupuncture has on descending inhibition

Face-to-face training

Here, you will cover:

  • Knee
  • Elbow
  • Neck
  • Low back
  • Achilles tendon

Plenty of needling skills taught and practiced, with plenty of opportunity to discuss implications for future practice. Have a client in mind? Bring along their case history, and we can tailor your acupuncture intervention to suit their symptoms.
