The course starts by establishing safety in needling, talking through contraindications and precautions, along with adverse events, before moving into the fundamentals of practising acupuncture, including needling basics, clinical reasoning from both a Western and Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) perspective, as well as covering pain physiology and how acupuncture can influence immediate pain relief.

Having re-established needling safety and the fundamentals, the course progresses into the use of acupuncture for facial symptoms, where you will discover the prominent meridians that cover the face, needling techniques for the prominent acupoints, and how acupuncture can be used in the treatment of Trigeminal Neuralgia, Facial Palsy and Temporomandibular Disorder (TMD).

Following this, the course progresses onto neck symptoms, covering the prominent meridians of the neck, needling techniques for the prominent acupoints, and how acupuncture can be used in the treatment of central and lateral neck pain.

Finally, the course ends with a module dedicated to the treatment of headaches, covering the prominent meridians of the head, needling techniques for the prominent acupoints, and how acupuncture can be used in the treatment of lateral and frontal headaches.

In each module, learning is cemented through the use of multi-choice quizzes, case studies and handouts.
