Dr. Michael Kelly is an experienced musculoskeletal physiotherapist and educator with a career spanning over two decades. Currently a Senior Lecturer and Physiotherapy Programme Lead, he is also a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, reflecting his dedication to excellence in teaching and learning.

Michael has spent his career exploring the mechanics of the human body, constantly driven by a desire to deepen his knowledge and enhance patient care. His particular passion lies in the transformative power of physical activity and exercise, which he believes should be accessible, inclusive, and straightforward for everyone to understand and adopt.

From his personal experiences as an avid participant in sports such as rugby, ice hockey, Olympic weightlifting, and running, Michael understands the profound benefits of exercise. This has inspired his focus on breaking down barriers to exercise and helping others unlock its full potential.

Michael leads the Strength, Conditioning & Exercise Prescription course at Breeze Academy, designed to empower healthcare professionals with the principles and practicalities of effective exercise prescription. The course aims to equip participants with the knowledge to confidently apply, explain, and tailor exercise programmes, ensuring their patients can fully experience the benefits of physical activity.

Through his work, Michael is committed to enhancing the understanding and implementation of exercise in clinical practice, paving the way for healthier, more active communities.
