Seeing as you’ll be starting with level 3 sports massage, there are no formal entry requirements for this pathway – it’s open to anyone with the motivation to learn and a genuine interest in helping others feel and perform at their best.

You’ll just need to be at least 16 years old and have good communication skills, which are key for building trust with clients and working confidently in a hands-on environment.

This programme includes 3 separate modules:

• Level 4 Diploma in Sports Massage (Soft Tissue Dysfunction, Performance & Recovery)
• Sports Strapping (Fully Online)
• Exercise Prescription: Strength & Conditioning (Fully Online)

Here’s what’s included:

Part 1: Build a strong foundation with essential knowledge in anatomy, physiology, and soft tissue techniques. You’ll learn how to assess and treat common issues, support client recovery, and work to a high professional standard. Includes a 2-day practical workshop, guided online learning, case studies, and tutor support.

Part 2: Deepen your skills with more advanced assessment techniques, treatment planning, and complex injury management. This course prepares you to work confidently with sports teams, in clinic settings, or as part of a wider healthcare team. Includes 3 practical days, structured online content, and in-depth casework.

Part 3: Sports Strapping – learn the principles and application to the major joints of the body, of both the lower and upper limb.

Part 4: Strength & Conditioning – learn what the physios cover in their degree. Volume, load, specificity and a whole heap more in this incredibly indepth module on S&C, and how to implement alongside your Sports Massage skills.

This programme is designed to build your clinical knowledge, practical ability, and professional confidence — step by step. By the end, you’ll have a strong, well-rounded skill set that prepares you to work safely and effectively in a range of settings.

Here’s a snapshot of what you’ll walk away with:

• Core anatomy, physiology, and pathology knowledge – essential for understanding the body, identifying dysfunction, and working safely with clients of all ages and abilities.
• Professional practice skills – including consultation, client assessment, treatment planning, and accurate record keeping.
• Sports massage techniques – from general soft tissue work to deeper techniques that help improve mobility, reduce pain, and support recovery.
• Injury assessment and rehabilitation support – helping clients prevent, manage, and recover from common musculoskeletal injuries.
• Advanced palpation and orthopaedic testing – to confidently identify problem areas and guide your clinical decision making.
• Communication and client management skills – to help build trust, deliver effective care, and maintain strong professional boundaries.
• Understanding of scope and referral – so you know when to treat, when to refer, and how to work safely within your limits.

Each part builds on the last, so you’ll always feel supported and ready for the next step.

Once you enrol, you’ll receive a welcome email with everything you need to get started with your Diploma. You’ll then confirm your preferred event date and location so we can book you onto your practical workshop.

We suggest leaving around 4–6 months between each part. This gives you time to absorb what you’ve learned, put your skills into practice, and build confidence before moving on. As you progress, more online lessons will be unlocked.

You are covered by Breeze Academy’s insurance while attending all practical, face-to-face workshop days as part of your course. If you wish to practice your skills outside of the workshop environment, we strongly recommend you obtain student insurance. Student membership is available through organisations such as the Federation of Holistic Therapists (FHT) and the Sports Therapy Organisation (STO).

And throughout the journey, you’ll have full support from our expert team to guide you every step of the way.
